Session Two: Pursuing Asylum Claims Involving Gender-Based Violence (2 hrs.)
To offer a complement to ASISTA’s usual focus on U, T, and VAWA-based relief, this session will focus on gender-based asylum claims. Panelists will review the current state of play for these claims and key doctrinal aspects to be aware of. We will also discuss best practices and common pitfalls to avoid when bringing these claims, whether you view asylum as your primary form of relief for the client or not.
