Description
Immigrant Survivors at Work: Labor-Based Deferred Action (DALE) for Domestic Workers
ASISTA has long advocated for immigrant survivors experiencing workplace sexual violence, and National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the leading voice for dignity and fairness for millions of domestic workers in the United States. Together, ASISTA and NDWA will discuss the particular vulnerability of domestic workers to workplace sexual violence, harassment, wage and safety violations, and other workplace violations. We will also discuss how Labor-Based Deferred Action (DALE) can assist immigrant survivors eligible for U, T, and VAWA relief based on these or separate harms, including those with pending applications. In this webinar, NDWA will provide an overview of the types of labor violations frequently experienced by immigrant domestic workers, and ASISTA will review the DALE process launched by DHS in January 2023, and current trends and issues in DALE adjudication.
Speakers:
- Rocio Avila, Senior Employment Law Counsel and State Policy Director, National Domestic Workers Alliance
