Empowering Immigrant Survivors of Violence: My Journey with ASISTA

This year, I had the honor of joining the board of directors of ASISTA, a national nonprofit dedicated to advance the dignity, rights, and liberty of immigrant survivors of violence. As an immigrant myself, I was fortunate to gain access to immigration pathways that allowed me to grow, learn, build resilience, and  capitalize on opportunities that wouldn’t have happened elsewhere.
However, many immigrant survivors of violence face insurmountable obstacles, including fear, isolation, and a lack of access to services that can help them escape their situations.

ASISTA works with law firms, advocacy groups and government to support cases of immigrant survivors of violence. Its founders were also key in passing the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), ensuring it includes vital protections for immigrant survivors—a legacy that has already touched hundreds of thousands of lives and continues to provide support today. As a proud member of ASISTA’s Board of Directors, I am inspired by the organization's longstanding commitment to immigrant survivors of violence, and hope to help create pathways for immigrant survivors of violence, ensuring they have access to the support and resources needed to thrive and reclaim their lives.

As we enter the giving season, I am reaching out to ask for your support in helping me reach my $2000 fundraising goal. Your generous contribution will directly fund the vital advocacy, legal assistance, and support services that immigrant survivors so urgently need.
Thank you for your support!
